Three gorges carved deep into a wall of solid obsidian, the area has strange properties. At the bottom of the gorge lurks a vast lake, deep jungle and occasional steam pits billowing up from the earth. the native fauna has strange medicinal purposes, but the wildlife is dangerous.
A series of rope ladders and cages is strung along the sides of the gorge to allow people to hunt for the fauna that grows there. No one has ever descended to the bottom of the gorge and returned to tell the tale. Even the up levels are dangerous, with the flying creatures, cave spiders and what have you.
